Content Description: Trunks and parfleches available for rental:
Lewis and Clark Traveling Trunks. For grades 4-12. Focuses on the journal writing, plant identification, and map-making activities of the Corps of Discovery's trip through Idaho. Articles in the trunk are replicas of items actually packed by Lewis and Clark for their trip west. Nez Perce Trunk. Items in the trunk demonstrate Nez Perce life before contact and include beautifully decorated parfleches and other handmade items donated by the Nez Perce Tribe.

Logistical Information: The Lewis and Clark Trunk and the Nez Perce trunk can be borrowed for up to two weeks, and the cost is $50.00 each. ISHS will pay shipping to and from. A Certificate of Liability is required for lease of the One of a kind Nez Perce trunk. Call 334-2120 for details.

Includes hands-on activities, resource guide, replicas, clothing, period trade items, videos, posters, and more. The Lewis and Clark Expedition: Scientific Discovery and the Impacts of Change. For grades third-fifth or sixth-eighth. Includes replica and modern scientific equipment, resource guide, books, posters, and more. Offers students an opportunity to learn about the natural scientific observations from the Expedition and the impacts of the changes that have occurred over the past 200 years. Who Were the Clatsops? For grades third-eighth. Uses the journals of the Expedition to learn about the Native American peoples - Clatsop and Chinookan. Includes replica artifacts, hands-on activities, resource guide, videos, posters, and more. Logistical Information: Rental period is 15-18 teaching days (not including weekends) plus shipping time. Rental fees determined by shipping zone. Park ships to borrower via United Parcel Service, and borrower returns to park via United Parcel Service at own expense.
